    3rd Global Forum on Human Resources for Health

    Pre-forum activities: 9 November: member/partner-run side events;

    Main forum, 10-13 November: opening ceremony, five thematic high level round tables and related track sessions, WHO bulletin launch, HRH report launch, HRH Awards, announcing commitments;

    Post-forum activities, 13- 14 November: field visits;

    Non-stop activities, marketplace, exhibition booths, audio-visual corner, photo exhibition, hall of fame for HRH awardees, arts & crafts market and other related activities.

    FORUM PROGRAMME UPDATE We have made sincere efforts to ensure that feedback received from our consultations are incorporated in the latest version of the programme. The programme, built around five sub-themes, will be addressed through a combination of 5 high level round tables and 25 track sessions. This format will enable us to capture – both the political insights as well as technical debates covering various issues pertinent to the HRH agenda and the move towards Universal Health Coverage (UHC). The five sub-themes include:

    Leadership, partnerships and accountability
    Financial requirements for robust HRH policies towards UHC
    Supportive legal and regulatory landscape for HRH
    Empowering health workers: a key condition towards UHC
    Innovation and research: new approaches in HRH for UHC

    High level roundtables will debate the critical role of HRH to achieve progress towards UHC– these roundtables will be in a talk show format, moderated by an eminent journalist. Within sub-themes, track sessions will highlight progress achieved to date, supporting evidence, lessons learnt, shared experiences, and gaps to progress towards UHC.

    After careful consideration it has been decided that there will not be a call for abstracts towards the programme. The format of track session organization is being finalized by the Programme Advisory Group and will be made available shortly.

    SIDE EVENTS We are now accepting submissions from members and partners interested in organizing side events during the Forum. These side events will take place on November 9. Please fill in the attached form to submit your entries, no later than July 10. Submissions will be screened to ensure that they are in line with the forum objectives.

    HRH AWARDS Nominations for the HRH Awards are now open. The awards will honour four categories of outstanding players in the field of human resources for health: health workers working in remote/hardship area; country level decision makers; partner agencies and organizations; and journalists.
